Job Classes

Job Classes in DOMO

In Dream of Mirror Online, every player begins the game as a "Commoner". When a player reaches level 10 in the Commoner class, they will then be able to visit the Dojo in Eversun City to learn about how to take the qualification exams for other jobs. Each qualification exam is its own small quest, and each is different. Once a qualification exam has been passed, a player will always be able to switch to that job at the Dojo from that point on.

All jobs besides Commoner will start at level 10, and each job will begin with its own unique basic statistic-point distribution regardless of race or gender. From here, you can freely allocate the 3 Stat Points and 3 Skill Points you get with each level however you'd like. You don't have to worry about trying to be a spellcaster if you've been putting all your points into strength, though, because every class keeps its own statistics and levels separately. This feature allows you to play as a wide variety of classes equally well, so you can discover your true calling in life!

Commoner

Commoners (also called Citizens) are the building blocks of society, supporting people through performing their everyday occupations. Because they're suited to ordinary lives, they can't use the skills from other occupations as well as another combative class can. However, with their "Everyday Skills," Commoners are able to access abundant natural resources and live life more freely without worrying as much about the economy. Commoners have no "battle" skills of their own, but can equip three active skillsets and three passive skillsets, making them the most customizable class. They might not look like much at first glance, but the Commoner class may be a road to financial stability and success!

Martial Artist

Martial Artists are masters of the body, using unarmed and lightly-armed combat to take down foes as they pursue untapped physical potential. Since Martial Artists don't wear armor, they can move and dodge with surprising speed, making it hard for enemies to land blows successfully. Martial Artists excel at up-close, one-on-one combat, especially between players, and they supplement their combative skills with meditative and acupressure skills to enhance their own toughness and healing ability. Martial Artists fight either with gloves or with a staff, each weapon having its own advantages.

Wizard

To common citizens, Wizards provide the valuable service of exorcising evil or wandering spirits, as well as spiritually cleansing and protecting homes. Beyond their dealings with ghosts, Wizards are powerful spellcasters that can deal huge damage to groups of enemies with a single spell. The scrolls they use to cast most of their spells are consumed by the force of their magic, requiring Wizards to always keep extra scrolls on hand in order to be prepared for any situation.

Blademaster

At the center of the rage of battle is the Blademaster, tearing through the enemy with unmatched fury. Unlike the more elegant Fencer, the Blademaster cares primarily about damage, able to wield large sabers to hack through even the toughest foes. Blademasters draw some of their inspiration from the power of animals, tapping into their beastly sides to deliver crushing blows. They can also focus their rage to increase their strength, accuracy, and attack speed, at the expense of defense or evasion. To the blademaster, the best defense is a great offense, and few are the enemies that can stand long in the face of their unrelenting fury.

Hunter

Hunters are often seekers of greater solitude, residing in the wilderness. They are skilled at tracking animals, concealing their own scent and presence and striking at vital areas for maximum damage. Hunters use bows and arrows to attack from a distance, keeping themselves free from harm. Because of this, though, they can be put in a tight spot if forced to fight up close. When Hunters focus their minds, they can prime their reaction for combat, as well as increase their accuracy and the speed of their attacks. Hunter can be a challenging class to play, but is also a rewarding one for those that "shoot" for it!

Thief

There are many kinds of Thieves in the world. Some Thieves are brigands who rob from anyone, some focus on shadowy, assassin-like arts, and some simply crusade for a justice above "the law." To be a successful thief requires a great deal of skill, and a skillful thief can be harder to catch than a slippery fish! Thieves don't just steal from people - they also pilfer items and recipes from animals and monsters. Thieves mainly use weapons that are easy to conceal, like darts and daggers. Their specialty is concealment, but they can move very quickly whenever the need arises.

Doctor

Doctors possess great knowledge, not only of the body's inner workings, but also of pharmaceutical chemicals and remedial herbs. Based on this extensive knowledge, they can diagnose and treat wounds directly on the spot. Doctors are constantly studying medicine to come up with more effective healing solutions. Over the years, they have recognized the vast healing potential within frogs, using various parts of frogs as a reagent in their healing remedies, helping warriors stay healthy on the battlefield.

Mercenary

The Mercenary is the workhorse of the battlefield, taking on the most dangerous jobs that no other class could do. They can take more than their fair share of hits without blinking an eye, and their tendency to draw the hits of enemies keeps foes off of teammates with lower defense. Theirs is often a thankless job, but a necessary one. Because of their years of experience, Mercenaries are capable of using their preferred weapons, spears and axes, as well as swords and daggers, and can wear either heavy or light armor. By taking charge and organizing their team, they can use "Formation" skills to increase the battle effectiveness of the entire team, and also possess skills that can draw monsters' aggression toward themselves. By doing this, they can keep their teammates safe, even in dangerous situations.

Shaman

Shamans provide an essential link between the world of mankind and the world of nature. By communing with the spirits, they are able to draw upon vast reserves of natural energy and form this energy into powerful elemental spells. Like Wizards, Shamans wear robes and use wands for casting magic. However, unlike Wizards, Shamans' magic doesn't need to be channeled through an object (such as the Wizards' scrolls), since it is drawn directly from nature itself. Shamans who have honed their casting ability are known to be able to string several spells together extremely quickly, dealing massive damage to an enemy before they have a chance to act.

Fencer

Not content to merely hack with a blade, a Fencer's use of the sword is considered an art, each slash and stab containing a lively elegance. Theirs is a deadly art, however - a Fencer is also a master of the body's pressure points, able to shut down a target's attacks, magic, or movement by targeting a critical area. The best Fencers are those whose every attack has a chance to remove their opponent's ability to attack effectively. Fencers are also well-trained in the use of spiritual power, and are able to channel spiritual energy to invoke auras that boost their offensive or defensive capabilities, or channel that energy through their sword to deliver powerful elemental blows that capitalize on enemies' weaknesses.

Musician

Some might think of Musicians as no more than entertainers, but in the Mirror World, the power of a song is mightier than one might think! They play a crucial role in most parties, where their songs can significantly boost a team's effectiveness in attacking, defense, or magical restoration. Both by singing and playing their stringed instruments, Musicians inspire their teammates - and their pets - to go beyond the normal limits of their strength. They're also the only class that can heal pets, and even resurrect them without the use of an item! Musicians are a creative and energetic bunch, and they're always looking to add a new song or three to their repertoire, or add more to songs they already know.

Dancer

Whirling and twirling, the Dancer may seem like an unlikely sight on the battlefield, but don't let their fancy clothes fool you - Dancers are a force to be reckoned with! With their battle-fans in hand and the finest footwork around, Dancers are even capable of siphoning enemies' health and magic and adding it to their own! The real specialty of Dancers is debuffing enemies, making it hard for them to fight effectively and leaving them wide open for a full-force attack from the rest of the party. With both single-target and area-wide skills, a Dancer's dances help keep the enemies right where you want them.

Merchant

Every player can hock their wears, but it's the Merchant who gets the most bang for their buck. With their trusty abacus in tow, a Merchant can calculate exactly what they need, improving luck for material gathering and item crafting. Their knowledge of exclusive trade secrets allows them access to manufacturing special goods and services available nowhere else, and they know how to put their money to work for them - by using it to deal damage and extort unsuspecting monsters! Best of all, as a player grows in the Merchant job, they can open up additional selling stall slots and rack up a break on city taxes! It may not seem like a class primed for the heat of battle, but there are many advantages awaiting those willing to walk the path of the Merchant.
